Mark Wilson is a Senior Strategic Advisor specializing in revenue cycle management and optimization. Mark started his journey in healthcare revenue cycle at Epic where he was on the Claims and Remittance Implementation Team. Through his 9 years at Epic, he helped customers in a variety of roles, from Application Manager, ensuring the specifics of the application was set up correct for the organization, to Revenue Cycle Leader roles, partnering with Directors/VPs/CFOs to drive organizational change, both during the install and once they were live on the Epic software. He was a team leader, helping grow staff to their fullest potential through coaching, actionable feedback, and performance reviews. Additionally, Mark held various internal roles, including Claims and Remittance Application Lead Installer, responsible for the success of all Epic customers installing the Claims and Remittance Application, growing future leaders on the team, setting vision and direction for the team, and ensuring that company initiatives were met.
After leaving Epic, he spent a year with an insurance company seeing the payer side of healthcare. While working with the payer, he helped them increase their auto-adjudication rate for claims by 11%, while also improving the quality and accuracy of the claim payments. He worked with managers and directors to find trends in data to drive organization changes and prioritize work efforts.
Mark has Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Education and currently lives in Madison, WI with his wife and two dogs (Carini and Ollie).
